We will have 4 teams in the U18 group. We will be including 8 over agers to this group since the U23 group only had 8 registered players. Assuming the U23 players will play, these 4 teams are full and registration for this group is waitlisting.
There will be 2 teams for U15 and there is only 1 spot remaining in the Spring sessions.
U11 & U13 will be combined as one group and is only 1 spot remaining in the Spring sessions.
We are only a month away from the first spring session. We are now asking for payments to secure your spot NO LATER THAN MARCH 31, 2025.
If you are registered for spring only, payment is $260.00
If you are registered for spring and summer, you can either pay the full $470.00 now, or you can pay $260 for spring and the balance of $210 will be due in June.
If you have 2 siblings in spring, payment is $470.
We plan to announce the teams by April 7th.
All the spring sessions this year (2025) will be at the RBC Arena in Burnside. This is due to GEC are removing ice sheets and doing some overdue maintenance items to the boards. Also, GEC are hosting Lacrosse games this summer.
What is 4x4 Rush?
4x4 Rush is a fast-paced version of the greatest game in the world, HOCKEY! This non-structured freestyle hockey program allows players more opportunities to be creative with the puck and more time with the puck. And best of all, you will get to play with different players/friends. If you are interested, click on the registration link above and send payment to 4x4rushhockey@gmail.com.
For those of you new to 4x4 Rush Hockey, this is a 4 on 4 ice hockey program, where the puck does not stop. We have timed shifts of 60 to 90 seconds and music playing the entire time. It is a lot of fun. If the goalie makes a save, the ref blows the whistle and the offensive team must all clear the blue line and then they can "rush" back in and attack. If a goal is scored, the ref will blow the whistle and the scoring team must all clear the center line, then they can turn around and "rush" again. In both cases, the defending team should get the puck out of the zone as fast as they can. They cannot be attacked until they either pass the blue line (or red line for a goal) or if the other team all clears the zone. This is a great opportunity for the kids to have some unstructured, stress free, hockey fun.
The biggest benefits to our program are:
1) Engagement and Creativity - The kids really have fun. There is lots of ice and lots of puck time. The music adds to the atmosphere
2) Hunger for the puck - This is a huge benefit, some kids have the desire and drive to go get the puck, to take time and space away from other players and some do not. This program really encourages the drive for the puck. Since the puck does not stop, the players have to get on the ice and "rush" to the puck as fast as they can. If not, the other team could have a break away.
The program will run in 10 week blocks, we will be on the ice once a week, during the weekday evenings. There is a limited number of spots available.
Please feel free to forward and share this communication with your friends, family and current teams.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out us, we LOVE talking about this program and hockey in general.
